Medioetruria, Casucci (Noi Moderati): "We must speed up the process for Rigutino, and the Region must be consistent."

Arezzo, August 24, 2025 – Medioetruria, Casucci (Noi Moderati): "We must speed up the process for Rigutino, and the Region must be consistent."
The regional councilor: "Creti is not a viable solution for the high-speed rail station; a definitive decision is now needed."
Florence – "Rigutino is the only possible solution, given that Creti is not viable. We ask the Region to maintain a consistent position."
This was stated by regional councilor Marco Casucci of Noi Moderati, regarding the location of the high-speed train station in the Arezzo area.
"No to Creti because there are flood risk issues, an increase in costs for the provincial road system, which needs to be upgraded and strengthened, and its feasibility needs to be verified given the geological characteristics of the Creti-Cortona area affected by the Val di Chiana reclamation," recalls regional councilor Casucci. "RFI is considering a new 350-meter road link to provincial road 28. However, it was pointed out to RFI that the SP28, the only road linking the Medioetruria station to the main roads, has a narrow carriageway, posing obvious problems for heavy goods vehicles and public and private buses. The SR71, which, in any case, contributes to the connection with the "Valdichiana" station both in the direction of Arezzo and Perugia, was not considered."
"Let's move forward with the Rigutino project, but let's reach a final decision as quickly as possible because the regions need certainty. Enough with the discussions and controversies, and let's get to work," adds Casucci. "This is a project that, once the regional elections are won, we, the Center-Right, will oversee and implement."
"I also urge adequate and prompt interventions for the two Valdichiana stations, Camucia and Terontola, which are in a dilapidated condition. Work on Terontola is scheduled for 2028, but I believe it could be brought forward, and that a project for the complete reconstruction of the Camucia station be completed as soon as possible," urges Councilor Casucci. "But also improved infrastructure extending from Umbria to Rigutino, including the new projects for the bypasses from Camucia to Castiglion Fiorentino and then Rigutino, which are essential for improved traffic flow in the Valdichiana."
